The book was controversial and pulled out of publicity due to many illustrations which was published and became popular in many countries one of the reasons was piracy and the worst is that it depicts racism.
From the title “Sambo” – a slang for black or according to Wikipedia – “is a racial term for a person with mixed Amerindian and African heritage”. I do not know how it became popular and sold over 1 million copies especially in Japan and as of this writing it is a trend on the internet searched by millions of people.
I became curious and wanted to read it but sad to say it is not available in my country so I look for an e-book version and luckily I found an online version here and it is available for purchase here for only $1.99
